Last Year's Residential College Energy Scorecard Final Results

Congratulations!

The Residential Colleges reduced energy use by 10.2% over the previous academic year. This has resulted in the avoidance of over 2000 metric tons of CO2 emissions, and over 3300 barrels of oil being burned!

Although some Colleges did not specifically meet the goal, the overall results were significant and impressive. University officials felt that the collective whole should share in the reward of renewable energy. In August 2006 The University purchased 10,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy from Sterling Planet. Specifically, the purchase was from the Oklahoma Wind Energy Center in Woodward, Oklahoma. This quantity equates to 2/3 of the collective electricity use from all residential colleges & Old Campus.
